The utility SMF File Typer sets the Macintosh file type for Standard MIDI files. This is useful so that applications such as BitHeadz' Voodoo recognizes these Standard MIDI files correctly.
To use the SMF File Typer, drag and drop files or folders on top of the SMF File Typer application icon in the Finder. All Standard MIDI files that are found have their Macintosh file type set correctly.
For those who understand the bits and bytes of Standard MIDI files, the typer first checks to make sure that the first 32 bits of the file is 'MThd' before changing the file type.
